After the excitement of the Third Round of the FA Cup earlier on this month, the competition returns to action this weekend with the sixteen Fourth Round ties being played from Friday night through to Monday evening. There’s a real mix of games, including another clash between two Premier League giants and rivals, plus a host of potential giant killings.
The action gets underway with the lowest ranked team still in the competition, Chorley, taking on Premier League Wolves on Friday night and then a further 15 games are played across the weekend until we finish with Monday night’s final tie, Wycombe Wanderers v Tottenham. With the draw for the Fifth Round already made, teams will know who they will face in the next round once all matches have been completed on Monday evening.

The standout tie of the round comes at Old Trafford on Sunday where Manchester United and Liverpool lock horns just a week after a dour goalless draw between the teams at Anfield last weekend. The first game on Saturday could also be an all-Premier League affair, assuming Southampton win their delayed tie with Shrewsbury Town this evening, with the winner taking on Arsenal.
Other games of note include Chelsea taking on Luton, the all Premier League clash between Fulham and Burnley, Leicester facing a tricky trip to Brentford and Manchester City’s trip to Cheltenham Town who will be dreaming of claiming the biggest FA Cup giant killing in recent times if they can beat the Premier League title chasers.
Let’s now take a look at some of our hot tips for the FA Cup this weekend.
FA Cup Fourth Round Top Tips
Bet 1 – Our FA Cup Accumulator
Accumulator bets are always good fun to compile, if decidedly difficult to hit, but I have gone through the coupon this weekend to come up with a nice little accumulator bet that I feel is worth a closer look for the Full Time Result market.

It is worth remembering here that this can be a draw as although no replays take place in the FA Cup this year, extra time and penalties if required will be used to decide the winners.
My tips for this are as follows:
- Bournemouth to beat Crawley Town – 1/2
- Brighton to beat Blackpool – 4/9
- Swansea City to beat Nottingham Forest – 11/10
- Fulham and Burnley to draw – 11/5
- Manchester United to beat Liverpool – 8/5
This fivefold accumulator would return at the odds stated, at 36.85/1. However, remember that the odds on selections can change in the run up to games.
Bet 2 – Odds Of A Giant Killing?
You may recall in the last round of this competition we saw Crawley Town pull off a superb result in beating Leeds United 3-0, Chorley defeated a young and depleted Derby County side, while Blackpool got the better of West Bromwich Albion on penalties. Furthermore, Burnley and Brighton only scraped past lower league opponents thanks to penalty shootout victories.
Looking at the Fourth Round draw, it is harder to pick out any potential giantkillings here. I think Everton, Tottenham and Manchester City will be too strong for Sheffield Wednesday, Wycombe Wanderers and Cheltenham Town respectively.
However, a couple of games to watch are the Chelsea v Luton clash with Chelsea not in the greatest of form, but even so, I would expect Frank Lampard’s men to come through this game.
For me, the potential for an upset seems most likely in the Brentford v Leicester City game with the Bees already reaching the Carabao Cup semifinals this season and flying high in the Championship. If Leicester rest a number of key men for this game, the home side could take advantage. The odds for this game are not yet up, due to illness in the Brentford camp putting the game in doubt, but if the game goes ahead then they will be live ahead of the game.
Bet 3 – The Big Match On Sunday – Man Utd v Liverpool
Just seven days after playing out a 0-0 draw at Anfield, Manchester United and Liverpool will clash once again, this time at Old Trafford with the winner moving on to the FA Cup Fifth Round. The game at Anfield was a pretty dismal affair to tell the truth but United had the better opportunities to win the game, despite Liverpool dominating possession.
I think both teams may be changed from that clash due to this being an FA Cup tie and if that is the case I think United will be the stronger outfit and as such, I would back the Red Devils to win this game at 8/5 in the Full Time Result Market.
In terms of the Correct Score, I think the fact both teams will be changed slightly for this game may actually be to the game’s benefit, so I am backing United to pick up a win here by a 2-1 scoreline which is a 9/1 shot with bet365 at the present moment.
As for the first goalscorer, United’s Marcus Rashford has a good record against Liverpool and the England striker is certainly due a goal. He is 6/1 to score first or last in this game or 15/8 to score any time and I think all of those bets look tempting.
Do enjoy this weekend’s FA Cup Fourth Round ties and hopefully one or two of your bets may come in for you!
